School and Community Tennis trainings and workshops have resumed across the state! In recent weeks, USTA Tennessee has conducted multiple Tennis in Schools and Community Tennis workshops in order to grow the game in our Tennessee schools and communities. Jackson- Madison County Schools and Benton County Schools both participated in the Tennis in Schools workshop so that their PE teachers could get trained on the Net Generation PE Tennis curricula and could receive the PE tennis equipment kit that USTA offers for free! As a result of these workshops, schools in those counties have already received their free PE tennis equipment kits and K-12 curricula so they are prepared to offer tennis in the new school year! USTA Tennessee has also done Community Tennis trainings at the Boys and Girls Club of Humboldt, Salvation Army in Chattanooga, and at Fort Campbell Army Base. The trainings for these organizations were in preparation for summer camps in which tennis will be featured as an activity. These free trainings give camp and community leaders the resources and knowledge they will need in order to successfully introduce their participants to the great sport of tennis! If you want to learn more about Community Trainings or request one, contact Marissa Kovach at marissakovach@ustatn.com
USTA Tennessee looks forward to facilitating many more school and community workshops this year as a way to continue to grow the game and give back to the community!
