MICHAEL CHAMBERLAIN
Michael has been an active tennis player and fan since the day he was born in 1980. As a junior Michael competed in numerous USTA national championships and tournaments. In 1997, while living abroad in Australia, Michael won the Australian High School Championships. He went on to play collegiate tennis at Middle Tennessee State University (1998-2000) and finished his career at the University of Memphis (2000-2002). During his college career, Michael also spent some time instructing and coaching. He was a volunteer tennis instructor for the Special Olympics Tennis Team for Memphis, and was the assistant tennis instructor and junior academy coach at The Racquet Club of Memphis from 2000-2002. Michael joined the Racquet Club's tennis professional staff in 2002 after graduating from the University of Memphis with a degree in Finance. In 2005 he earned his MBA from the University of Memphis and became a franchise owner and operator of Budget Blinds from 2006-2009. Michael was also the Ball Person Coordinator for the professional tennis Tournament in Memphis 2004-2006 and 2008-2010 and the Players Service Manager 2011. Michael served as the Director of Tennis at the Racquet Club 2010-2017, during which he received his certification as a Master Professional by the USPTA in 2016 becoming on the youngest Master Professionals in USPTA history. Michael was named the Executive Director of USTA Tennessee 2017 a role he currently serves in. Michael’s family is also very involved in tennis, with his father the current director of tennis at Memphis University School and his sister, Kristin Mitchell, a current teaching professional. Michael’s mother, Ginger Chamberlain and youngest sibling, Kara Chamberlain, are also very active tennis players.

KIM WILSON
Kim Wilson is from Clarksville, Tennessee where she attended Austin Peay State University and studied Journalism. She then earned a degree from Middle Tennessee State University’s Court Reporting Program and worked as a court reporter in the Nashville area for five years. She began working for USTA Tennessee in 2014 as a Community Coordinator and Nashville Junior Team Tennis Coordinator. Kim joined the USTA TN staff full-time in 2017 and her primary responsibilities include Community Tennis Association (CTA) Development, Grants, National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) programs, as well as outreach, diversity, and inclusion efforts. Kim has played recreational tennis in her adult life and has actively captained USTA Adult League teams. Besides tennis, Kim enjoys spending time with her twins, Blake and Bella, traveling, and hiking with her dog, Stevie.

TYLER STRONG
Tennis has been a part of Tyler’s life since his early childhood, thanks to his father who taught tennis part-time. His favorite tennis experiences growing up were playing on teams at all levels: grade school, secondary school, and collegiate. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University, Tyler began his career with the USTA in July 2014 administrating adult and junior competition. He joined the team at USTA TN in May 2015 in a Schools/After-Schools position, where he helped launch the Rally Cats program. He now serves as the director for all USTA junior tennis programming in the state, with a particular focus on growing and developing junior league and team programming. In his spare time outside of tennis (work or play), Tyler enjoys outdoor recreation activities, attending concerts & sporting events, traveling, and indulging in everything Spotify has to offer. He is extremely grateful to be in a position where he can give back to a sport and organization that truly helped shape the person he is today.

HAYLEY CARTER
A Tennessee native from Chattanooga, Hayley Carter was introduced to tennis at a young age because her father worked next door to a tennis facility. After picking up her first racquet, she could never put it down. It led her all the way to the University of North Carolina, where she was a 7-time All-American. After college, she transitioned to the professional level on the WTA Tour, reaching a career high of 25 in the world in the doubles rankings and getting the opportunity to compete at all four grand slams. Following her playing career, Hayley moved into collegiate and developmental coaching, with stops at Vanderbilt University and her alma mater, North Carolina. She later expanded her experience into the technology side of the sport through her work with CourtReserve. In her role as Manager of Adult Tennis Programming, Hayley combines her experiences as a player, coach, and leader in the tennis community to help grow and enhance adult tennis opportunities across the state. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, and cheering on the Tar Heels in all sports!

LOWELL COFFMAN
Lowell is a native of South Florida and married with three son. He was previously employed at the City of Plantation Recreation Department in Florida. In his previous role, Lowell was a tennis professional who promoted USTA programs and cultivated relationships with state and national organizations. He was also a community organizer and volunteer that assisted with charities and local non-profit groups, which helped strengthen the presence of the facility within the community. Lowell enjoys camping, travelling, playing all sports, and spending time with his family. Please contact him if you are interested in bringing an adult or junior tennis event to your area!

KRISTEN YOUNG
Kristen started playing tennis as a little girl with her whole family at her local swim and tennis club in Farmington Hills, Michigan and played on her school team. During college, she played on USTA teams with both her mom and her sister so it has been a family sport since the beginning! Kristen graduated with her Bachelor's degree from The University of Michigan - Ann Arbor in education in 2009 and her Master's degree from West Virginia University in physical education in 2015. Before becoming the USTA Tennessee's Junior Tennis Manager she was a middle school PE teacher and tennis coach in Williamson County Schools since 2010. Kristen continues to coach the Brentwood High School tennis teams (the Brentwood High School Tennis Team (Boys and Girls) won the TSSAA State Championships 'Public School Division' in 2024). As a school teacher and tennis coach, Kristen was also a Rally Cats coach and USTA Tennessee's Educational Merit Award Winner in 2023. Besides tennis, Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband, Drew, and chasing around her two young daughters, Caroline and Camryn.

ROBIN GILLIAM
Robin Gilliam is a native Tennessean who grew up in Centerville TN. She is married with two children who both grew up playing USTA. After graduating from Hickman County High School, she earned an accounting degree from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. Her involvement with USTA began in 2008 when she started playing USTA Adult League and also volunteered as a JTT captain for her daughter’s team. She currently coaches middle school tennis at Grassland Middle School and High School tennis at East Hickman High School. Outside of tennis Robin enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with her family!

SARA WALL
Sara was born and raised in Upstate New York, where she lived until moving to Nashville in the summer of 2024. She was interested in tennis from a young age, but didn’t begin playing seriously until taking part in a summer tennis program through her town’s parks and recreation department in middle school. She played on her high school team for four years and also played on her college’s club tennis team. Sara earned her Bachelor's degree in management from Siena College and is currently completing her Master’s of Sport Administration degree from Belmont University. At Belmont, Sara is a graduate teaching assistant in the sports science department, where she teaches a variety of activity courses such as wallyball and spikeball. Sara joined the USTA TN staff as an intern in the spring of 2025, where she assisted with tournament operations, youth programs, and community outreach. In her current role as Red Ball and Social Play State Coordinator, Sara is responsible for growing adult social red ball tennis across the state. In her free time, Sara enjoys playing tennis with friends, cooking and baking, gardening, and exploring new places in Nashville.
