Tennessee’s first tournament in 2021 provided spirited competition for 90 players and their families. Dodging snow flurries, the outdoor event was highlighted by the 10-under Grand Prix tournament that will help select Tennessee representatives to a special Southern Development Training/Event in June. Weather issues forced the tournament to use short sets but all events were completed.
The 10-unders players competed in Compass draw events that offered four matches to each boy and three matches to each girl. The winners were Boys champion Maxwell Parker of Nashville and the Girls champion was Natalie Frisbee of Gallatin. There will be two Grand Prix events each month in Tennessee through May with the top Boys and Girls selected to a Southern regional training camp in June.
