USTA Tennessee Welcomes Courtney Collins-Guentner

USTA Tennessee welcomes Courtney Collins-Guentner
as Junior Tennis Coordinator hire

 

NASHVILLE - May 10, 2018 - USTA Tennessee welcomes Courtney Collins-Guentner as the Junior Tennis Coordinator. Courtney grew up in Fulton, Mississippi. She began her training in Fulton, and as her junior career blossomed she began traveling to Memphis, Tennessee to train at the Racquet Club of Memphis.

Courtney has an accomplished tennis background and brings a wealth of tennis knowledge to the USTA Tennessee team. Her tennis experience ranges from nationally ranked USTA junior, to playing college tennis at the University of Memphis to competing on the professional tennis circuit (WTA Tour).  While at the University of Memphis she participated in the World University Games, and was ranked as high as 21 in the country in singles and 18 in the country in doubles. After college, Courtney joined the WTA tour where she played for one year while training and playing in Europe. After touring, Courtney moved to Murfreesboro, TN where she worked at Adams Tennis Complex as a teaching professional and was also an assistant coach to the MTSU Women’s tennis team.

Courtney also has an impressive education background, receiving her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Exercise Science.

“I am looking forward to continuing my passion for junior tennis and the opportunity to spread tennis throughout the state.  USTA Tennessee as a whole is working hard to promote the game of tennis and I am proud to be joining such an acclaimed organization.”

Michael Chamberlain, USTA Tennessee Executive Director, speaks on behalf of the organization: “We are very excited about Courtney joining our team.  Her distinguished accomplishments in the world of tennis both on and off the court will help continue USTA Tennessee’s goal of being the leading USTA district office in the country.”

USTA TN President Elizabeth Walker also agrees with Michael in saying “Courtney will be a valuable asset to the organization and USTA TN is proud to have her on board.”
