USTA Tennessee partnered with Davidson County Metro Parks and Recreation to host a “Tenis Para Todos” Family Launch on June 11th at the Coleman Community Center in Antioch as an outreach project to the local Hispanic Community in Nashville, TN. Games, food, prizes, music and giveaways were on call as volunteers and partners came from around the state to help support the event!

Tracy Davies, the Executive Director of USTA Tennessee emphasized that “with 60,000 plus and growing Hispanic families in Nashville, this was a great opportunity to reach out to provide a sport that engages the entire family in a healthy, active lifestyle. It was also encouraging to see the variety of cultures that come to Nashville from around the world that have had some sort of connection to tennis”.

Highlighting the event was an attendance by D.A. Abrams, the USTA Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, and Bill Leong, the USTA Director of Diversity and Inclusion. Guests from the USTA Southern office in Atlanta included Ron Cioffi, the USTA Southern Director of Communications, and David Araiza, the USTA Southern Hispanic Outreach and 10&Under TSR. USTA Tennessee also partnered with Conexion Americas, the Hispanic Family Foundation of Nashville, the Memphis Open, and the Nashville Progresso Community Center to host the 200 participants.

This particular event will be followed by a Community Play Day at Antioch Middle School this Saturday, June 18th from 9:00-10:30, and a range of summer camps throughout Nashville which can be found on or by contacting Veronica Uribe at 615-788-2612
