NEW Ida Stone Jones Community Tennis Center

March 15, 2016 10:25 AM

BRISTOL, Tennessee (March 14, 2016) - USTA Tennessee is proud to announce that another set of new community tennis courts are now open in Bristol at the new Ida Stone Jones Community Tennis Center.

The Homer A. and Ida S. Jones Charitable Trust has provided $250,000, matched by the City of Bristol Tennessee and the Bristol Tennessee City School System at $125,000 each to build the courts on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd near Vance Middle School.

As more funding becomes available, plans to add restrooms and a Bob Helton hospitality building will unfold. To support this project, please consider donating to the Bristol Tennis Center & Bob Helton Building project.

Bristol Public Schools and Parks & Recreation hired Bart Kennedy to oversee and coordinate tennis programming at this new facility. That means more oppotunities for our Bristol juniors, adults, and beginner youth players to work on their competitive edge or simply enjoy a nice day on the courts with USTA Tennessee.

This incredible new facility will also be the new home to the Tennessee High Vikings State Champion tennis teams. NJTL of Bristol will also continue its forty-year tradition of providing free or low cost tennis programming to all of Bristol's youth at the center.

So, Tennessee, grab a friend and get out on your brand new Ida Stone Jones Community Tennis Center courts in Bristol, Tennessee!
