Knoxville, Nashville and Memphis hold Competitive Training Centers in November

On Saturday, November 23 the USTA TN hosted three Competitive Training Centers across the state.  Competitive Training Centers are for players aged 12 to 14 who are the top performing juniors in Tennessee.

Players participate in an intensive, half-day training session, where they receive coaching and feedback from the top tennis professionals from around the state.

The Knoxville session was held at Knoxville Racquet Club, with Scott Patrick and Rob Cameron.  Knoxville camp participants had a unique opportunity to compete against the Winthrop College Men’s Tennis Team.  The team generously donated their time to help with the development of these top junior players.  Three high-performance hitting partners, Lorenzo Rollhauser, Anna Fester, and Griffin Davis also helped kids work on developing points during match play, and on developing routines between points to increase focus and concentration.

The Racquet Club of Memphis hosted the Memphis Competitive Training Center.  Juniors that participated in this camp were coached by Phil Chamberlain, Kristin Mitchell and Christian Mitchell.

The Nashville Competitive Training Center took place at Vanderbilt University and was coached by Karl Davies, Kristen Schlukebir, and Houston Barrick.

Thank you to all of the players who participated in these centers and to all of the coaches and facilities that made them possible.  Thanks too to all the great hitting partners that assisted at each camp, and Winthrop Men’s Tennis team.  We look forward to the next CTC and to continuing to make these events a great experience for the players.
