2013 TOC championships

Nashville, TN. September 30, 2013—The 2013 Tennis On Campus Tennessee Championships were held on Saturday September 28-Sunday September 29 at the Centennial Sportsplex Tennis Center.  Sixteen teams came from around the state and throughout the Southern section to compete. Over 100 players attended the two day event.  Many team brought multiple teams to compete.


Teams from Ole Miss, Furman, Clemson, University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Vanderbilt, Middle Tennessee State University, Georgia Tech, University of Kentucky, Austin Peay and University of the South (Sewanee) traveled to Nashville to compete.


The University of Tennessee at Knoxville sent three teams to the event, and the UTK-A team emerged as the winner after play completed on Sunday.


“It’s great to see these kids come out and compete while still having fun and forming some meaningful relationships that can last a lifetime” said Marney Babbitt, TOC tournament director, “We could not have asked for better weather and we were so pleased to see so many teams come to play from so many different states.”


USTA Tennis on Campus provides college students with a host of opportunities for team camaraderie, social networking and unrivaled competition through tennis—without the demands of a varsity program. The co-ed format is designed to accommodate all levels of play, and top teams can compete for regional and national championships. Tennis On Campus helps students maintain active and healthy lifestyles through their college years and helps them to stay connected to the lifetime sport of tennis.
