New Nashville NJTL

Tennessee Announces New NJTL in Nashville:

USTA Tennessee is excited to announce a new chapter of the National Junior Tennis and Learning program (NJTL) in the Nashville community.  In 1969, the National Junior Tennis League was created as a way to gain and hold the attention of young people, with the hope of teaching them the importance of character, getting an education and becoming productive citizens.

Today, the now-named National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network features more than 350 nonprofit youth development organizations that offer free or low-cost tennis and education programming to more than 200,000 under-resourced youth each year.

NJTL is supported by the USTA Foundation, the national charitable arm of the USTA. The work done by its member chapters includes after-school tutoring that focuses on academic enrichment, a life-skills curriculum and, of course, tennis.  Currently the USTA Foundation has awarded $25-million dollars in grants and scholarships through NJTL programs across the US.

The addition of the NJTL program is the next exciting step that USTA Tennessee has planned for the Hadley Park Tennis Center.  The NJTL chapter will be organized by The Friends of Hadley Park Organization and will begin their youth programming at the completion of the $60,000 renovation of outdoor courts set through the Davis Cup Legacy Program.  This renovation will be complete August 9th, 2018.
