Southern Adult Tournament Championships in Tennessee

Southern Adult Indoor Open Recap

The winter holidays were a time for family, friends, and USTA Southern Tournament Championships in Tennessee. Tennessee hosted not one, but two, USTA Southern Adult Championship during the holiday season with nearly 300 participants competing in the two tournaments. The 2018 Southern Adult Indoor Open, which was held at The Racquet Club of Memphis from December 27 through December 30, 2018, featured all five Open categories over the four days of competition.  Vincent Rettke of Madison, AL was crowned the Men’s Open Champion, while Racquet Club of Memphis pros Cedric De Zutter and Matt Feury won Men’s Open Doubles division. On the Women’s side, Ashley Murdock, also of the Racquet Club of Memphis, won both the Women’s Open Singles and the Women’s Open Doubles divisions, teaming up with partner Grace Anne Dunavant. The Mixed Open Doubles division saw the duo of Claire Sullivan and Andrew Bolds crowned champions.


Southern Senior Men's & Women's Winter Indoor Open Recap

Just a few short days later, play begin in Nashville for the 2019 Southern Senior Men’s & Women’s Winter Indoor Open. Over 20 divisions were showcased in the 4-day event hosted at Belle Meade Country Club and Vanderbilt University’s Currey Tennis Center, a strong reminder why the event was the 2017 USTA Tennessee’s Adult Tournament of the Year.
