Jason Miller Named PTR Kentucky Member of the Year

Hilton Head Island, SC - Dr. Jason Miller, of Louisville, Ky., has been named PTR Member of the Year for the State. This award is presented to a PTR member who has shown dedication and diligence in promoting and supporting tennis and PTR. Miller is a tremendous ambassador for the game and PTR.

Miller has served as Tennis Service Representative (TSR) for Kentucky with USTA Southern since 2005. He works with facilities and organizations in all facets of the tennis industry to grow tennis participation.  Implementation of 10 and Under Tennis has been a focus and passion, and he is honored to conduct workshops as a USTA National Faculty Member.

Prior to becoming a TSR, Miller worked at USTA Kentucky as the Director of Recreational Tennis and coached at the high school and college levels. A former high school Athletic Director and teacher, he played college tennis at Vincennes University and Murray State University.

In 2008, Miller earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Organizational Development with an emphasis in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville. The following year, he joined PTR and earned the Professional rating in both 10 & Under and Adult Development. 

Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) will presented its annual awards yesterday during the 2015 PTR International Tennis Symposium. The event, which includes more than 40 educational presentations for tennis teachers and coaches, a trade show and tournament, is being held February 19-22 on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

PTR is the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals with more than 15,000 members in 125 countries. It has the greatest percentage of multicultural and women members of any such organization. PTR is dedicated to educating, certifying and servicing tennis teachers and coaches around the world in order to grow the game.
